My name Is Michel, I am a full time student majoring in education, a full time wife to my airman, and a full time mother to our two fur babies for now! I am a southern girl at heart and proud of it. I enjoy just about any outdoor activities, and love basketball. Coffee is definitely my weakness, especially here in the North West. I adore my husband and our family. We miss them much but enjoy our life in the Air Force.

My Airman, a lovable, caring, sweet, car loving, hardheaded man! : ) but he is my world. He is a boom operator in the Air Force and so far he loves his job. When he isn’t working he is probably working on his car, or on the internet finding things for his car. He is crazy, but you just can’t ask for a better husband.

Highschool sweathearts, that stuck together trough it all and ended up falling head over heels for each other. Married on November 23, 2009 and loving our wild and crazy life as two southerners living in the Northwest!

Day One

Today is day one of this horrible deployment and it has just been a long day that seems like it will never end. I did blog about some of it on the other blog Deployment Diaries . but there is a little bit more I want to say that has been really bugging me and if it offends you then so be it because i am tired of hearing people say this. I know that my husband is Aircrew and I know that he has, should I not say easier, but one of the better jobs in the air force. But when people have the nerve to tell me that my husband is NOT deploying because he is only gone for 77 days at a time and does not go to Iraq, yes I am going to be a brutal bitch to you and tell you off. The nerve some people have. Yes your husband may be gone for 6 months or more, but I guarantee you that your husband would not come back if it wasn't for mine. Yes my husband does not go to Iraq, because if he did ALL of our planes would be shot down and the whole place would blow up from all the fuel so therefore your husband would not come back. Yes my husband gets a room to his self and does not have to stay in a tent, but this is also because my husband needs the rest to fly the next day and to make sure everything goes smoothly in the air. I completely understand that your husband is more at a risk of being shot at, but that does not give you the damn right to say that my husband job is not important and that this is not considered a deployment. Yes, he is only gone for 77 days, but as soon as he comes home after 77 days home full of TDY's, he turns right back around to deploy again. So do not tell me that your husband is gone more than mine. Come visit me after 20 yrs of this and then we can compare! Ugh people make me so dang angry, and this is literally how one of my conversations went with a person I never want to speak with again. She has lost all respect from me. So please do not comment on any of my post saying anything related to this because I am on fire.

Oh and aside from all this bad news I come with more. Our jeep broke down Saturday so it is not drivable. We got it towed to a auto shop and they told us we needed a new transmission. GREAT!!! so we ended up selling it for 500 bucks and lost 700 throughout it all. BLAH. At least he was home for that craziness.

  3. I hate it when people try to make it a competition. In the end, you are without the man you love, so it is hard! And it is difficult for him to be away from home too. Makes me so angry when people are petty and say stuff like that. You are so right to tell them off if they have the nerve to say it to you!

  5. People are so rude. I hear you on everything you just said though. I've had people say the same stuff about us because he's only gonna be gone 5 months. People are ignorant. It's all hard, and being gone 77 days or 365 doesn't make it any easier.

And in response to your first comment about this day never ending...guess what? It did :-) Hope you have a better day today!!

  8. Yeah, some people love to play the comparison game. =P I have a friend whose husband is in the Air Force; it's true his deployments are not very long compared to ours (the Army's) and the Air Force is smaller so they get more money for nicer stuff and don't have to put up with quite as much BS as the Army does. But my friend's husband is gone ALL the time. He is never home even a full month without going on some kind of short TDY and is always missing special days. My husband hasn't gone anywhere since he got back from deployment last summer. But his deployments suck the big one since they are SO long.

So, every situation is equally sucktastic. And only the mature military wives will admit it. So hang out with the ones who will and dump the ones who won't because most likely they're chronically negative and unhappy and won't do you any good.

  9. It's always good when they are home for craziness like the Jeep. for some reason they always think they could've fixed it if they were home!!
