My name Is Michel, I am a full time student majoring in education, a full time wife to my airman, and a full time mother to our two fur babies for now! I am a southern girl at heart and proud of it. I enjoy just about any outdoor activities, and love basketball. Coffee is definitely my weakness, especially here in the North West. I adore my husband and our family. We miss them much but enjoy our life in the Air Force.

My Airman, a lovable, caring, sweet, car loving, hardheaded man! : ) but he is my world. He is a boom operator in the Air Force and so far he loves his job. When he isn’t working he is probably working on his car, or on the internet finding things for his car. He is crazy, but you just can’t ask for a better husband.

Highschool sweathearts, that stuck together trough it all and ended up falling head over heels for each other. Married on November 23, 2009 and loving our wild and crazy life as two southerners living in the Northwest!

Then and Now

I remember in high school I was an over active person. I played basketball, ran cross country, ran track, and I even did gymnastics outside of school. I was always on the go, working out and staying  fit. Sports were my life and I loved the competition. I may at one point even have been to skinny but that also had to do a lot with my father passing away and me becoming depressed, however that is another story and I am getting of topic. So what I am trying to say is that I have lately become to laziest thing ever! Once I graduated I started college, but I still managed to work out in between classes about 3 times a week. That was my freshman year. Sophomore year, Joe left for basic and I had no motivation at all to go while he was gone. So I completely stopped for those 3 months. While he was in tech school in Texas and Washington I worked out occasionally. Maybe once a week. I was just so lazy and had no motivation. When we finally were reunited it Oklahoma for some more of his training, we were so caught up with each other to even think twice about the gym. We would at least go once a week and sometimes get lucky and squeeze in two times. And this now brings me to where I am at now. We are in Washington now and have been for about  4 going on 5 months. Within this time I have had no motivation at all to go to the gym. I have not ran, done one sit up, or push up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. And let me tell you when i got on that treed mill, which i am not a fan of these things to begin with, it whooped my ass. I only ran a mile and half in 14 minutes. I should be running Two miles in that time. I realized that my body is not the same as it was in high school. No more running 5k's in 21 minutes. Kinda depressing when i look back and see how bad I let myself get out of shape. GRR. But I am working on it.

Also, The hubs and I are trying so hard to get leave to go home for a week in December. We do not even want the week of Christmas and we will settle for the 13- the 19th. So I really hope that we both get approved. : )

And I am leaving you guys with a picture of our kitties.

It is beginningto look like Christmas

Yesterday evening after I got off work and cleaned the house some, the hubs and I went to Walmart and I finally talked him into buying a fake Christmas tree! It was a really good deal. 88 bucks and it is 7 feet tall and pre light. I love pre light tress because putting lights on a tree is such a pain in the ass. So I was so excited.

Tree put together with nothing on it.
Then as we are walking around looking at decorations for the tree I thought I was going to have a melt down because the hubs has awful taste in decoration, and he wanted a colored star with blue lighst for the topping and crazy colored balls along with streamer to go around the tree. Ahh. I am a classy person and I love the elegant look with white lights with silver balls and with a hint of color.  So I caved a little and let him pick the colored balls, which are blue and I had to have silver along with a white star on top.

hubs adding the topper

:)
I wanted to stop here because I wanted to add silver ribbon to the tree, coming from the top to the bottom, but the hubs bought these candy canes that i thought he bought to eat. Nope he bought them for the tree. So he starts adding them to it. I swear he is such a little kid. : )

you have to look closely
Once they were all on there I decided that it did not look bad at all, but I still want to add my ribbon I just have to find some I like . I love our Christmas tree and the fact that we got to put one up this year. This is our first year EVER putting up a tree. we have been together for three years and within that time we never put one up. So I am so thankful that he was home for this and the holidays to experience it with me.

I love having the Christmas lights light up the room.

I also brought out some of the other Christmas stuff I have been collecting this past month. I put away the thanksgiving ones and out with the  Christmas ones.

So cute. Love the rain deer

got this at the airman's attic

these pine cones smell soo good!

On another note, it is still snowing... BLAH. we have about 2 feet and it is still blowing down. Also I have saw my first real  icicles the other day. So cool.

our neighbors house. No other house but his had them.
Has anyone else started to decorate for Christmas yet. If so feel free to share ideas. I am down for any. I love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday EVER

Thanksgiving = AMAZING!

So, considering it was my first year EVER cooking thanksgiving for a house full of guest it was pretty amazing. I was so worried about the turkey and I though it was going to be so dry. However since I was so paranoid  about it being dry I was constantly adding my ingredients to it to make it tasty. : ) So the turkey was the best part of the meal to me.

Turkey going into oven.

3 and half hours later!

Now that I have the hardest thing cooked for thanksgiving I have left the easiest one to cooked. Of course I would come across something a mess it up. I mean as many times as I have cooked potatoe salad I happen to screw it up on this day!! I first made the potatoes to soft so I just used those for my home made mash-potatoes. Then when i cooked the potatoes again i made them to hard!! I mean really.. So I just gave up and said screw it. But other than that everything was great!

Just looking at all these photos are making me angry again! We have so many left overs, but trust me they will get eaten, especially the rice crispy treats. : )

Oh and to add i was so upset that I had to work this morning on BLACK FRIDAY that I missed all the good sales. i am about to head to the BX and hopefully walmart to see if I can scramble up any good deals. I hope everyone had a safe and great hoilday. Now time for Christmas!!!

Below Zero

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes. : ) I loved reading them all. The hubs and I had a good night together. On another note, I am SO excited about Thanksgiving tomorrow!! This is my first thanksgiving cooking a turkey and all the food. So it will be an experience. I am hoping things turn out well, but hey i have to learn some time right? I should start now when i do not have tons of family to feed. HA. But we have some friends coming over to help eat it too. I absolutely love thanksgiving because that means that it is time to start putting all of our Christmas decorations out!  We usually put a tree up after thanksgiving so I am hoping that we will have time to do that Friday. Im sure we will. : ) I am trying to decide if I want to buy a real one this year and wait to buy a fake one after Christmas when they all go on sail. I have no clue. Any suggestions?

I know lately I have been blogging about the weather and our crazy blizzard weather we have had. Well today it is not snowing but it is really cold. This morning when I woke up for work my car said it was NEGATIVE TWELVE! It has warmed up a little to 0 degrees now, but still too cold for me. My poor car did not even want to start this morning. Even though the sun is trying to come out the snow is not melting. It is supposed to start snowing again tomorrow and into the weekend. So we will see.

I hope everyone is enjoying there Wednesday, and getting all there yummy food together for thanksgiving.

One Year!

Today is the hubs and mine one year anniversary! It does not feel like we have been married for a whole year today at all. It went by O' So fast. However it has been an amazing year and I could not have asked for a better man to spend it with. He spoils me and will do anything for me. I love him to death. So tonight we are spending our one year snowed in at the house with a candle lit dinner and snuggling up on the couch watching movies.. sounds nice huh? I am not going to lie it might not be a candle lit dinner, but it will still be a nice dinner at the table that was all prepared by me. : )

On another note let me tell you about my morning. So as you all know we had a blizzard last night and it was for sure a blizzard because when I woke up this morning I could not even get out my door. I had to push so hard to get it open. Also it took me 30 minutes just to shovel my car out of my driveway. There was so much snow! it was crazy. Some spots went up to my knee. So I then drive to work, I am the opener so I have the only keys to the building, and I was the first one there. So once again there was more snow for me to shovel!! I could not even get into the building I had to wobble over the snow that is knee deep to the front door. It was such a hassle. While shoveling I busted my ass, yeah that's right lol. Also while going on my lunch break my car got stuck and some military guys came a pushed me out. haha. all in all it was a bad morning and I am glad I am home now with the hubs. : )

This was after I shoveled the driveway!!

some of the snow I shoveled

our house after all the snow is shoveled

this is what I stepped in right out our front door

after wobbling to the door at work!! Notice how it goes all the way to my knee!

HA
My love

Once again no road! Oh and i am parked lol.

and to think this is just the start of it all. Well I am off to celebrate with the hubs. I hope everyone had a great Tuesday and enjoys their night. :)

Warning!

So, today we were put under a BLIZZARD warning!!! I know it scary right? I mean it is crazy out there. We just had to drive to the airport and there was so much snow and the wind was crazy. We are in the warning till tomorrow morning around 10 am, and I really hope it doesn't get to much worse than what it is. On our way home from the airport we almost got stuck. I freaked!! But we made it back home and we are in for the night. That is until I have to be up at 5 in the morning for work. Oh and I have to shovel all this damn snow too!! I am not looking forward to it. Needless to say I can now say that I have witness my first snow and my first blizzard in the same year. Crazy huh?

my car this morning

Um yeah you cant even see the road

and i thought these tress were so weird

I will post some tomorrow from our wonderful blizzard. lol. also I wanted to share that today I got the flu shot : ( It was the nasal spray kind and it was disgusting. I tasted it for about an hour. So now I really hope that I do not get sick again. i just got over a cold and I do not want another!!!

I hope everyone had a good Monday! : )

MilSpouse Fill In

Alright as you all know I have been a real slacker lately because I have been busy with school and all. Well I have missed like 2 fridays of Mil Spouse fill in so I made sure I didn't miss it today. So here it is.

1. If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs – such as food and water – were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
I would have to take my hubs and of course my cats!! I cant live with out them : )
2. If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?
I am crazy about some ranch dressing. I swear I eat it on everything.
3. If you had to live on a ranch, what kind of animals would you raise/own?
Horses and Quarter Horses. This is one thing I miss about home. Living on our ranch. : (
4. If your life was was portrayed as a movie, who would you choose to play you and your significant other?
Hmm... I'd be played by Reese Witherspoon because she is my all time favorite actress and she is so cute..   And the Hubs would definitely have to play either Channing Tatum or Chad Michael Murray because they are good looking of course. The hubs hates that fact that I think Channing Tatum looks good, because he says he is a thug. haha So prob Chad Michael Murray is a better choice.
5. What was the last thing you put a stamp on (envelope, duh, but what was in the envelope)? Bills Bills Bills and more Bills. They never end

I hope every one had a great Friday! I know I am so glad it is Friday. Thank goodness for the weekends. Hope everyone has a great weekend and wish the hubs and I luck on our photos Sunday!!

The winter bug!

Lately I have been feeling like major crap! I am so stopped up and it seems to get worse once I lay down for bed every night. I cough all night long, tossing and turning. It is horrible. I refuse to go to the doctor because I hate them so much. So this has been my best friend for the past three nights.

Orange juice and nite time!
Thats right I have used that much nite time in just three days! I gulp that stuff down everynight before going to bed, praying it will do me some good. I personally think my body is just going crazy insane because of this weather. I am not use to this cold weather at all, I mean I am from the south. This snow stuff doesn't happen down there often. Maybe once every seven years. And to top it off today was the weirdest day. As you all know from my post last night the hubs was out flying all night. Well he got home prob around midnight and came and woke me up about two telling me it was snowing really hard. As soon as those words came out his mouth I was like a little kid waking up on Christmas. : ) I am so stoked to be able to see the snow and I have been waiting on it to start coming down hard. So I watched for a while and went back to bed because I had to be up at five. Needless to say there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground this morning on my way to work and it was still snowing. By the time it went on break for my lunch the snow was already melting and the sun was out! I mean really. This does not help at all with my cold. I swear the weather needs to make its mind up. I also learned something new today. I thought that the colder it was the more of a chance we have for snow, because next week it is going to be like 16 here!!! But I was told today that snow only happens between certain temperatures. Around 25- to like 40 degress. Is this true???But here is a picture of the snow this morning.

Also, I did set up a date for the hubs and I to take our pictures for our Christmas cards. We are taking them this Sunday at 1. So i really hope the weather is nice and that if it decides to not be nice that it is snowing instead of raining.

What my night consisted of.

To go along with my last post I have now just discovered this video called "Charlie bit me". I adore kids and they are just the cutest things EVER! Listen to the kids voice in this video, it reminds me of Forrest Gump and the baby is the cutest chunky kid yet. : ) I hope you enjoy.

The hubs is flying tonight so on aside of me roaming the net, because I am extremely bored. I have also cleaned our much needed messy house top to bottom. I feel so much better now that everything is clean. I HATE having a messy house and i am usually on top of things. Heck I even get annoyed when the hubs wakes up after me and forgets to make the bed. AHH, However I have learned to adjust to his habits because he is not the neatest thing around. I swear as soon as he walks through the front door he is making a trail. First he throws all his stuff on our table by the door and then the rest follow all the way to the bedroom, and when he gets to the room where does his clothes go? Well, if it is his flight suit it goes on the dresser, to be worn tomorrow, if it is civilian clothes they go on the bathroom floor right BESIDE THE HAMPER. I don't ever say anything because it is just a guy thing and I always go right behind him picking it up. I guess you can say it is Love <3 lol. I would love to come home one day to a house I didn't have to clean, but I am pretty sure that will not happen anytime soon.

Picture of his things on the table

Even though he is a messy, hardheaded man I love every bit of him. Well I am off to try and get some rest. I have a long day tomorrow. 5:45 AM to 4:00PM!

Have a great night yall.

Finally!

I am finally done with my portfolio and I can not explain how much weight I have lifted off my shoulders now. I can finally start completing things I have had on my to do list for forever! One of these things is for the hubs and I to get our picture professionally taken so that we can make nice Christmas cards this year, Which we are getting from shutterfly. We haven't had nice pictures taken in a while and it is major priority on my list. Might I had without these photos we have no picture to put on our Christmas cards! I really want to get them done this Saturday, but it all depends on the hubs and his schedule. I have not had time to ask him because he has been sleeping all day everyday because he is either flying or playing X box. Nerd i know. Also my friend Erin just received her shutterfly Christmas cards in the mail today and they look amazing I must say. So if you are apart of that wonderful deal that is going on with shutterfly expect an amazing job.

No for something that Erin showed me the other day and I can not get out of my head. It is so freakin funny and I thought I would share.

I hope everyone is having a great Wed!

Catching up!

I know I have been really slacking on blogging lately. I have been really busy with school and trying to finish up my major portfolio for my education class that is due tomorrow night at midnight. However, I have decided that I am in need of a much needed break from working on it, to fill my fellow blogger's in  on my life. Of course the best way to update you guys is with pictures and I have plenty to share at the end of the post. This past week Kelsey, a friend of mine came down to visit her boyfriend, Caleb, who is also stationed here with us. She arrived Wednesday and left on Sunday. She was so excited to be here, because this was the last time she was going to get to she her man before he deployed. Needless to say we had a little to much fun the first night she arrived. Wednesday night we had a little get together at my place and played the game Things, which i love. We all were drinking and having a good time, not knowing how good of a time we were having until the next morning. : ) Here are some picture I took while playing Things.

Sparta had to be the center of attention

HAHAH

Had to support the arrival of Kelsey with our Canadian mug

Now, on to the next subject. If you have been keeping up with my blog you know that I am starting a few projects in my house to make it more appealing. I have officially started on one of these projects. I wanted to re due our kitchen table's chairs because the fabric on them were so nasty and had spills all over them. I went to a fabric store and literally spent 7 bucks on fabric. Cheap and easy. Then when I get home and I unscrew the cushion from the actual metal chair and start to measure how much fabric I need for each, I realize that I might not have gotten enough. Fantastic! But I still wanted to do at least one to see how it turned out. So I start to move forward in the project and get to the point where i need to secure the fabric on to the cushion and realize that I do not have a staple gun!!! I was so angry. Then of course the brilliant person I am decided to just hammer in nails, but not all the way, because it could poke you in the rear when sitting down. So i began to hammer in the nails halfway and bend the rest of it down. It worked, but it was such a pain in the butt. I finished one and I am not doing the rest until I get a staple gun. : ) But here is my ghetto version of our new chairs.

Before

After

Before

After
So, i would definitely suggest that when trying to re due your table's chairs make sure you have a staple gun. It will save you time and frustration. : )

I always get comments on how adorable our cats are and I enjoy sharing photos with you guys because I know yall enjoy them. So here are a few of Fluffy being her goofy self.

I hope every one is having a great week so far. And I hope to be back to the blogging world more after tomorrow. I will catch up on all of yalls blogs soon.
